Counselling/Psychotherapy

Overcoming difficulties leads to courage, self respect and knowing yourself.
-Alfred Adler

Who is it for? Counselling is for anyone experiencing emotional issues which are negatively impacting on relationships with self and others in every day life.

What is it? Counselling is a talking therapy provided by a trained counsellor and can be used as a reflective space to talk through and find ways of resolving emotional issues. I will invite you to talk about feelings and emotions in a safe and confidential environment whilst listening attentively and helping you find a way of resolving these issues in your own way.

What can it help with? Counselling can help individuals to be less anxious, have greater self-confidence, improve relationships, regain emotional balance, increase assertiveness, provide stress relief, increase the ability to set healthy boundaries and resolve trauma. Counselling can enable self-improvement and personal growth and may be helpful in achieving better emotional health, relationships and increased satisfaction with life.

Issues that I work with include but are not limited to:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Relationship Difficulties
  • Bereavement
  • Self Esteem Issues
  • Life Transitions
  • Professional/Career Issues
  • Academic Issues
  • Ecoanxiety
  • Stress
  • Sexuality
  • Childhood Issues

How will I know if counselling is right for me? I offer a free 20 minute phone conversation during which we can assess if therapy is right for you.

How long does it take? A counselling session is 50 minutes long.

How many sessions will I need? This really depends on the individual and what kind of issues he or she is bringing. We will usually review your progress every six sessions to assess how you are progressing.

How much does it cost? I charge £50 per session. Concessions are available upon request.
